  4. Thank you for using the CASSIOPEIA.
  5.  
  6. CASIO is providing this the service pack program to improve the power 
  7. management feature on the CASSIOPEIA (Models A-10 & A-11).
  8.  
  9. Complete update information is described below:

  14. * Title: Power management improvement program.  (Keybddr.dll)
  15.  
  16. * Description: Even though the CASSIOPEIA power is turned off, a 
  17. software problem may prevent the unit from properly entering the 
  18. standby mode, and some circuits may still operate. This Service Pack 
  19. corrects this problem.
  20.  
  21. * Download:
  22. The Service Pack installer application (Setupex.exe: 65,446 bytes) 
  23. will be downloaded once onto your PC. The setup program and the update 
  24. program are both included in the one file.
  25.  
  26. Click the "Download" button below and follow the instructions to 
  27. download the installer to your PC. Use 'Setupex.exe' as the file name.
  28.  
  29. * Install:
  30. Next, connect your CASSIOPEIA to the Windows 95 PC using the serial 
  31. cable that comes with the CASSIOPEIA. The H/PC Explorer also needs to 
  32. have been installed on the PC.
  33.  
  34. Use the H/PC Explorer to backup any data from the CASSIOPEIA to your 
  35. desktop computer.
  36.  
  37. Double-click the downloaded file on the PC. Then, follow the 
  38. instructions displayed by the PC installation program. The update 
  39. program will then be transferred to your CASSIOPEIA.
  40.  
  41. After the transfer, press the RESET button to restart the CASSIOPEIA, 
  42. and then turn the power ON. Please be sure to reset the CASSIOPEIA, 
  43. otherwise, the update program will not take effect.

  45. * After You Install
  46. When restoring data from a backup file, a message to Retry or Skip 
  47. keybddr.dll may be displayed. Choose to skip the file; it isn't needed 
  48. for the restore operation.
  49.  
  50. * Other cautions
  51. 1)  This program has nothing to do with the fact that batteries are 
  52. consumed much faster when you use a modem card. Continuous use of a 
  53. modem card can reduce battery life to about 30 minutes, depending on 
  54. the modem card being used.
  55. 2)  This program has nothing to do with a hang-up that may happen when 
  56. you change the main batteries and the backup battery in the wrong 
  57. order. Main batteries should always be in place before the backup 
  58. battery is changed. If this type of hang-up should occur, you may need 
  59. to remove all batteries for 5 minutes. The memory will be completely 
  60. cleared. After that, please install the main batteries first, then 
  61. install the backup battery.

  66. 1. This software is provided only to CASSIOPEIA users.
  67.  
  68. 2. When the customer has purchased several copies of CASSIOPEIA, he or 
  69. she is entitled to use the software only for the number of copies that 
  70. have been purchased.

  72. 3. This software can only be used for the purpose of updating your 
  73. CASSIOPEIA.

  75. 4. The following restrictions apply to this software.
  76. 1. You may not alter, modify, translate, reverse engineer or 
  77. decompile the software.
  78. 2. You may not sell, sublicense, rent or distribute it with other 
  79. products or as part of other products.
  80. 3. You may not provide or transfer the software with a book, 
  81. magazine or network.
  82. 4. The software updated with the use of this Service Pack must be used 
  83. in accordance with the license agreement provided with the CASSIOPEIA.

  85. 5. In addition, you must read and agree to the license conditions that 
  86. are displayed by the setup application prior the actual installation.
